Responsibilities and Expectations: 

The Contracts Administrator/Contract Specialist will be responsible for the review, negotiation, and finalization of various commercial contracts across the organization. Some general responsibilities in this role include: 

  • Assess, advise on, and minimize project risks
  • Communicate and collaborate with commercial personnel and sales personnel to understand scope and risk and the organization’s appetite for the same
  • Understand and support contractual compliance including insurance, health and safety policies, corporate compliance policies, etc.
  • Manage contractual changes, support negotiations, and advise on disputes and conflict resolution under such contracts
  • Advise on terms of contracts to support operational compliance
  • Understand and advise on organization’s corporate entities
  • Assist with managing legal entities and maintaining corporate records
  • Communicate and discuss contract clauses with internal and external customers

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Ability to read, analyze, understand, and interpret legal documents
  • Proficiency in common office applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Basic understanding of corporate standard operating procedures (SOPs), occupational, safety, and environmental regulations and laws, and federal contracting laws
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment and support of multiple internal customers
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain high degree of organization
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to proactively identify and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong contract review and negotiation experience required
  • Paralegal certificate and experience is an added advantage, but not required
  • Experience in Federal Contracting regulations (FAR and DFARS) is an added advantage, but not required
