Responsibilities and Expectations:

The Tulsa Service Center is looking for a Mechanic who will disassemble and clean electro-mechanical equipment, replace or repair worn components, retest equipment, assist other mechanics, conduct teardowns and assemblies, and perform various skilled or non-skilled duties independently and as directed by supervisors or managers. Responsibilitiesand dutiesinclude:

  • Read job cards for status, work authorizations, and problem descriptions.
  • Test electro-mechanical equipment for known or suspected issues using various methods (AC or DC).
  • Disassemble equipment, noting parts details and condition.
  • Clean equipment assemblies using various methods.
  • Measure or note proper replacement parts and requisition items as approved.
  • Replace or repair worn assemblies (e.g., bearings, brushes, gears).
  • Retest reassembled equipment for proper operation.
  • Complete accurate and timely paperwork for each job.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment.
  • Observe safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
  • Lift, tighten, adjust, or secure heavy objects.
  • Maintain a clean work area as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assist other mechanics or shop personnel as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Run test panels independently.
  • Teardown, inspect, and assemble rolling element bearing motors and pumps without supervision.
  • Conduct RCFA with supervision.
  • Verify machine work accuracy without supervision.
  • Read, verify, and record external winding connections independently.
  • Complete the required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Assist in the teardown, inspection, and assembly of various equipment without supervision.
  • Measure rotor TIR without supervision.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical skills.
  • Effective English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capability to comprehend, execute, and retain various skill-based training, as well as operational and safety procedures as demonstrated by a supervisor.
  • Safety-conscious professional with the ability to perform tasks in dynamic environments with moving components.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at elevated heights to ensure a secure and efficient workspace.
  • Regularly handle loads of up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Quick response-ability to avoid or mitigate potentially dangerous situations, navigate uneven terrainsafely, and climb ladders with up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular duties involve standing, walking, using hands for various tasks, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and talking or hearing.
