Responsibilities and Expectations:

As an Inventory and Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of inventory control, purchasing, and maintenance tasks within our organization. Your primary duties will include negotiating deals, managing purchase orders, maintaining our eBay store, overseeing repairs, conducting cycle counts, managing inventory receipts, and ensuring accurate tracking of lot-tracked and serialized items. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining system inventory, identifying unused inventory items, and implementing improvements to inventory processes as needed.

  • Negotiate deals and manage Purchase Orders.
  • Identify and update Lot Tracked and Serialized Items in inventory system.
  • Manage item listings and orders for the Ebay store.
  • Coordinate Repair Order Materials and track repair progress.
  • Conduct physical inventory verifications against system records.
  • Receive, assemble, and manage inventory of contact kits.
  • Handle incoming inventory of insulated case breakers.
  • Identify and manage unused inventory items.
  • Maintain system inventory accuracy and create item codes.
  • Receive Lot Tracked items and manage Lot Numbers.
  • Receive Serialized items, manage serial numbers, and update records.
  • Handle large purchases and implement process improvements.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year experience as Inventory Specialist or similar role.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, purchasing, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and ERP software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with eBay store management is a plus.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

Professional Certification:

  • PearlTM Level I and II
  • Forklift training
  • TSC Electrical Training Classes completed within one (1) year of hire date
  • Mine and Safety Administration (MSHA) Training
  • 10-30 Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Card
  • Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • In-house Training on individual machines in the shop
