Responsibilities and Expectations: 

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a proactive Corporate Senior Accountant to support the corporate accounting function, including daily and monthly tasks. These tasks include processing monthly journal entries, preparation of account reconciliations, fixed asset management, preparation of work papers to support annual audit and tax compliance, and other ad hoc corporate accounting responsibilities.

  • Provide support necessary to plan for and achieve corporate financial objectives
  • Support Corporate Accounting and Finance staff and operating personnel with financial and operating matters.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Follow basic operating procedures within the IPS accounting framework to provide efficient and timely financial reporting.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly accounting postings and deadlines.
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in review of service center accounting including reconciliation review and compliance with IPS accounting framework.
  • Prepare documentation for financial audits, tax audits, business license renewals, census reporting, and various regulatory notices.
  • Sort and route accounting mail to correct departments and third-party providers.
  • Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Manage fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
  • Routine and ad hoc financial reports as requested by management.
  • Perform special accounting projects as assigned.
  • Drive ongoing improvement by ensuring adequate internal controls and accurate reporting in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles.

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Three to five years’ experience in job related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, including compliance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • BS Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience in related field
  • Sharp analytical thinking and reasoning abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and take appropriate action
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented with sound problem-solving skills  
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain high degree of organization
  • Poses excellent written, verbal and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to proactively identify and develop effective solutions
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude
