Responsibilities & Expectations: 

  • Perform safety training programs, maintain, and update Job Hazard Analysis, new communication methods, Lean tools, implement 5S, continuous improvement, and six Sigma
  • Develop a safety discipline focused on creating a best-in-class employee work environment, clear communication, and engagement from all levels of management
  • Administer all environmental and government reporting programs to ensure locations are at the highest standards of environmental awareness, disposals, and environmentally conscious purchasing 
  • Develop and implement all safety, emergency, and security programs, with related training, including development
  • Partner with managers to define necessary skills needed and team development, putting the right people in the right roles
  • Participation and leadership in steering committees, safety council meetings and senior level presentations when needed

 

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Shop or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety or Business preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Continuous Improvement preferred 
  • Must possess a valid drivers’ license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability and determination to move operational initiatives forward, using performance metrics and benchmarks to track progress, and the ability to use fact-based persuasion to influence key stakeholders
  • Experience balancing strategy and execution, ability to get ‘hands-on’ with the business while understanding the processes needed to deliver results
  • Strong project management skills and process orientation
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite tools

Pay Rate Details: $72,000-$88,000 Per Year
