Responsibilities & Expectations: 

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator for our Abilene Service Center. As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator for IPS you will be responsible for physical and transactional shipments, both incoming and outgoing. You will also verify and store records and assist with loading and unloading trucks.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset ensuring the Shipping and Receiving department has a Customer First approach
  • Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery
  • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers
  • Inspects shipments for damages or defects
  • Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery, may maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records
  • Review Purchase Order delivery dates and truck schedules to plan each workday
  • Assign and maintain inventory locations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Shipping & Receiving floor and Job Material staging areas
  • Will operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety environmental, and/or infection control standards
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Operate forklift
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Records maintenance skills preferred
  • Inventory Management preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to lift, push or pull items up to 50 lbs. in weight
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written
  • Ability to understand follow safety procedures
  • Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
  • High School diploma or GED required, Associates Degree or higher from an accredited college preferred
