Key Responsibilities and Expectations: 

As key contributor to Wind Solutions by supporting production, machine setting up, trouble shooting and reducing cost of machining. In addition, supporting engineering in developing prototypes and improving efficiencies in production.   

·       Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.

·       Transfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules, and insert control instructions into machine control units to start/stop/pause operation.

·       Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and remove or replace cutting tools as required.

·       Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.

·       Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.

·       Build/Create parts by – including but not limited to:

a.     Cleaning – hand cleaning, tumbling, grinding, sandblasting, etc

b.     Machining – operating CNC & manual lathe and CNC & manual milling machines

c.     Assembling – Build full assemblies by assembling sub-components

·       Lead daily 6S initiative and keep shop areas clean & organized

Qualifications and Competencies: 

·       Ability to perform basic math functions

·       Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures

·       Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time

·       Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs 

·       Strong ability to accurately follow instructions, both written and verbal, with limited guidance

·       Excellent time management

·       Technical background with electrical and/or mechanical products is a plus

·       Critical attention to detail

·       Ability to operate manual machining tools to include horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines, and related equipment is desired.
